Jacob Hebior was able to pass Alex Martinez at the end of the race to secure first place at the Southern Lakes Conference Meet. Hebior crossed the finish line with a time of 16:31.7 and Martinez followed him posting a time of 16:35.9.
"Jacob ran a strong, never-give-up race as he overtook Martinez as they headed toward the chute" Coach Olsen.
Shane McNealy took third in 16:42.1 in helping the Falcons amass a score of 49 points, good enough for second behind Badger's 27 points.
"Badger ran tough today and showed why they are state ranked". "I think a better race for us would have made for a more competitive race but not sure we could have caught them today" Coach Olsen.
