Two ranked foes got the best of the state-ranked Central girls volleyball team. Ranked sixth in the latest Wisconsin Volleyball Association Division 1 state poll, the Falcons went 1-3 at the tournament.
Central defeated Oak Creek 25-14, 25-12 before bowing to No. 3 Arrowhead 25-16, 25-23; No. 5 Brookfield East 25-10, 25-21 and Brookfield Central 25-20, 25-17.
Leaders for Central were Maddie Brown (37 kills, 23 digs, four blocks), Kaeley Mueller (14 kills), Sarah Blair (32 digs), Abi Marquenski (8 blocks), Nikki Stratton (4 blocks) and Danielle Stachura (54 assists).
"Our efforts are to become better communicators," Coach Berg said. "We are in hesitation mode and need to break out of that. Our offense is new with young players who will grow into their positions... "We will improve with continued work and effort".
