Head Coach
Boys Varsity Golf
I attended Westosha Central and that’s where I first started playing golf as a freshman. Dorm Grams was the boy’s basketball coach and was also the golf coach and he encouraged me to give golf a try. That was the start of my “life” in golf. I went on to play at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. After graduating from college I was offered a job teaching history at Central High School and it was at that time that I began coaching golf. This is currently my 48th year at the helm of the boy’s team at Central. (Central has only had 2 golf coaches in the history of the school) At times I served as the head coach of the girl’s team and at other times I was an assistant for the girls. For the last 14 years I have also been the Head Coach of the Men’s team at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside.
The greatest source of satisfaction that I get from coaching is watching the players improve throughout their time as members of the team. Golf is a difficult game to master and my experience helps me to guide them when they reach the point that they are ready to take the next step forward. In the off-season I enjoy watching basketball and competing in amateur golf events whenever possible.
