KENOSHA BRADFORD H.S.: 0
Melissa and Meghan Capra set the pace for the Lady Falcons who won the annual Kenosha County Cross Country Meet again this year.
Older sister Melissa was the first to cross the finish line on the girls side with a time of 19 minutes, 36.5 seconds. Slightly behind Melissa was her sister, Meghan, with a time of 19 minutes, 56.3 seconds.
"The second half of the course was almost all down hill, which made it east for me to take charge, and the wind was bad but I just hid behind a taller runner", Melissa said.
"It's fun being together. We're very competitive and I really wanted to catch her, especially since I had never been that close", Meghan sad.
In the win, the Falcons amassed a total of 30 team points, with second place Indian Trail a far ways behind with 80 team points.
Coach Olsen said, "I was real pleased with what we did. Coming in, the girls were defending champs and on the boys side Tremper and Bradford have state qualifiers, so edging out Tremper was a big win for us. Our front running has been good, but we need to focus on closing the gap from our ones and twos to the rest. We're really sitting nice this year. I like where we're at".
