Keith Drissel, Class of 1970

While attending Central High School, Keith Drissel was one of the most successful wrestlers in school history. Keith was a two-time conference champion and a WIAA Regional champion. He ended his high school career with a record of 63-12-1, while competing in the 98lb, 103lb, and 115lb weight classes. Keith wrestled in an era where it was difficult to wrestle more than 20 matches a year. Keith was awarded team captain during both his junior and senior year. He was the only wrestler to defeat UW-Parkside legend Bill West during his senior year.

After graduating from CHS, Keith never gave up his passion for high school wrestling and returned as an assistant coach. He first served as an assistant for his alma mater in 2002 and then another eight years as an assistant at Union Grove High School. He instilled his passion of wrestling to his two sons from 1987-1994. Channeling this passion into success, his son Jerome qualified for the state meet in 1991 and his other son Sid qualified in 1994. Keith and his wife, Judy, also had a daughter, Deanna, who was a very good high school softball player for the Falcons. One of his biggest hobbies outside of being a part of high school wrestling was participating in county fast pitch softball. Throughout the years Keith was a player, coach and league manager.
